Bon Apetite

Julia Child died yesterday. She and Smokey the Bear are my heroes (well Barbara Tuchman too, but that's different). Julia Child was amazing. She started her television career when she was in her 50's in an era when women didn't work outside the home the way they do today.

I'm not sure she would have been a success today, but I sure am glad she was a success then. I grew up watching the French Chef on PBS. She, the muppets and Mr. Rogers were my TV companions. I loved it when she accidentally dropped things on the show. Oops!

She would have been 92 years old tomorrow. Rest in peace, Julia. And have a nice glass of claret.
