The Squiggle Report

I don't have my sister's permission to post my nephew's image on the internet. Rest assured, he is a fine baby. He looks very much like his uncle, my brother. Uncle was a Gerber baby, that is, Gerber used his image for advertising. So you could say that Squiggle looks just like a Gerber baby with complete veracity.

At just a week shy of 4 months, there are teeth starting to push up through the gums, strong neck and arm muscles, and muah hah hah, developing vocal chords. Squig has just figured out that he can make a whole range of sounds, and the ones he's most interested in making are the REALLY HIGH PITCHED squealy ones.

Sister called in a near panic, begging me to come babysit so she could leave the house. Unfortunately for her, I think he was hip to her plan and saved all his squeals for later. For me, he grabbed a bottle of fresh boob juice and promptly passed out 2/3 of the way through. After a nap we trundled out into the fresh air for a couple of hours, most of which he slept right through.

Once back at home on his little play mat, it was time to exercise the new vocal sounds. I of course had to beat feet to another appointment. No squeals for me.
