New Jersey - the Allergy State

In addition to a noticeable lack of high-occupancy carpool lanes, NJ is very different from NorCal in one extremely annoying respect. Something here is burning, rotting, blooming or molding. Whatever it's doing is producing the itchiest, scratchiest sinus allergies I have suffered in decades. I predict the family-sized box of facial tissue will be empty by tomorrow night. I'll be looking right sexy for Sunday morning's baptism.

I can hear the commentary now. "We couldn't afford the magic fairy godmother, so we opted for the party clown fairy godmother. That's her over there with the curly red hair and the big red nose, the one sneezing every 4 seconds."

Benedryl will be first order of the day once the rest of the house gets up.

That's why I moved from the East Coast. I couldn't breathe nor taste for years. It's not just New Jersey.
