A day without internets

Blow-me! today was boring.

I realize my intended post "I celebrated my last spring break ever by sleeping on the couch" is not entirely scintillating reading, but it's true. I slept on my couch. Because I could. (And for my trouble I had strange, semi-erotic dreams featuring vague acquaintances.) And then I did -jack- all day, because there were no internets, because the router needed to be rebooted and Landlord wasn't home to do it, and so in utter boredome I gave myself 2 ugly pedicures and then one that was passable, and then I gave myself half a manicure. Then I stupidly left the house without enamelling the nails on my right hand. Bravo, Genius!

Finally, after darkness fell, the ISP juice restarted and the internets did provide. Cagey has given me the perfect ammo to use against the Bane of My Existence. BOM is preggo and her hips are now as wide as mine. I think I'll offer to lend her some pants. --insert evil grin here--

For those who don't know me, it's the equivalent offer of a muumuu with an inseam. Well mostly. I do have an abnormally large booty and hips.

In other news my three best friends are Pisces with birthdays yesterday, tomorrow and 3.14onefivenine. I'm off to a double header celebration of the births of Thing(friend) 1 & Thing(friend) 2.

[confidential to em.uhl.e: Thing 2 is turning fifty-something. He's having a party. Granted, it's at his house. Granted, he sent out the e-mail. But sometimes you gotta make your own fun. You are SO not too old for parties and frivolity, it just sometimes happens that you get a bum year for some celebrations. You WILL HAVE PARTIES!!! forever & ever, dammit! PS - Thing one is turning a year older than me, and we know how much older you are than me (which is to say, not at all) ergo if you're too old for parties I can't have them either. Snot fair.]

UPDATE:
I was gonna shine that party, but OH! was it worth while. First 95% of my favorite people were there, but also this super geeky-yet-hot Canadian game developer (Yes, Monkey, McGillian, duh!) shined his own party to come with my friends who convinced him that the birthday bachannal would be more fun. I am ashamed to say that I flirted pointedly and unabashedly and really wanted to get his business card. Humunah! (not the same as Num-mun-uh-Nah!). I predict another night of semi-erotic dreams feature vague acquaintances. Man, I gotta learn some subtlety. I need some proper lessons in flirtation.

Meanwhile... Boys, listen up: you programers with nice manners, and a well trimmed mustache/goatee combo are the hottest thing I know. [mental grr to self: I should have payed more attention during UNIX class. Sigh.] You make my rockin' world go round.

Knowing (somewhat) your BOM, I have to say that is absolutely the best way to poke at her. Ha!

Yay for flirtation! Yay for geeky boys with facial hair!

I prefer them clean-shaved but I completely agree about earnest engineering/cs dorks, they do make the best boyfriends. In the grand scheme of my male preferences I prefer

Engineering-Finance combo geeks, Pure Finance geeks, Ph.d geeks (prefer science) and then, very low on the totem pole...Doctors. Absolute bottom? Lawyers. I decided in the middle of 1L that I canNOT deal with having a relationship with a lawyer.
