London

Thursdays start way too early, I have to be out the door by 7:10. My world is gray and foggy inside and out at 7:10 in the morning. Naturally, I was utterly unprepared for the traffic report to be delivered in an English accent, and even less prepared for the traffic report to concern a city so far away. It's hard to drive with tears in your eyes, cold sweat beading on your skin as you wonder not whether but how your friends are impacted.

I got off easy, everyone was accounted for by 9:30 am. It wasn't until much later that I found out one of them was two stops back when Aldgate blew. Cold sweat again. Everyone has been marvelling at the professionalism and ability of Londoners to carry on. Yet I can't help but think, ~50 people are still dead, and hundreds more are still injured.

I'm not feeling particularly charitable to the Davids of the world who go after Goliath's neighbors. It completely demagnetizes any concern that I might have had for their plight.
