Temporary paradise

Yay for the 3 day weekend w/boy.

Friday night was poker game. I didn't play poker, I ignored former BF Spud and spent all my time paying attention to newer friend Jan. We played a rousing game of Mexican Train Woot! Woot! Woot! chugga chugga chugga, and then I scurried off to the airport. Sadly, D&T's plane arrived an hour late. Sad, because I could have played another round of Mexican Train, but sadder still because I am trying to create a tradition of Drinkies at a local bar/restaurant and when we showed up they had already closed.
Saturday, we visited friends in a nearby metropolis and then had a nice dinner out with D&T's parents and sibs. We finished off the evening by getting a ride home in the brother's shiny, sexy, all-black, uber snazzy Mini. Meanwhile, the bestest roommate in the whole wide world made a point of going out for the entire night so that D&T and I could stay in and play noisy reindeer games. We obligingly made a lot of noise, because we could. Sunday morning we had brunch with a different group of friends. The Sunday paper featured a review of the restaurant we had tried to visit on Friday night. It is one of the most scathing restaurant reviews I have ever read. Take that, losers! HA! Sunday was beautiful, so we went on a hike, and because this community is home, we ran into several friends out enjoying the rare sunshine on the same walking path. Today was a mellow mix of coffee, a visit to the local day spa for a hot tub soak, Italian deli sandwiches and MadLibs. This has been one of the best weekends evah.

Boo Hiss, I miss D&T already. I hope he gets home safely. I guess I should do my Property assignment now. Yee haw.
