Kiddy Films

It would be extremely fair to say I rarely go to the movies. This year, I have been 3 times. Last year, I went 8 times. In 24 months, my movie watching has comprised 4 cartoons: Finding Nemo, Triplets of Belleville, Shrek 2 and the Incredibles; 4 kid story based fantasy/adventure stories: Pirates of the Caribbean, League of Extraordinarily Awful Gentlemen (can't believe not only did I spend money, I'll never get those hours of my life back), LOR and Harry Potter; 1 good drama: Big Fish; one sappy drama: Love Actually; and one incredibly lame homage to my inner Santa: Bad Santa.

Now that I can see the light at the end of the tunnel, and hear the whistle of the oncoming train, I need some DVD rental recommendations so that I can download my brain after exams.

Suggestions please....
(chick flix and comedies especially desired)

For comedy, if you don't mind reading, you seriously can't go wrong with Taxi, the adorable original French comedy that the recent Queen Latifah Debacle was based upon. If you want to go black&white, make sure you've seen The Thin Man. Nick and Nora are the funniest alcoholic high society detectives ever. The Guru is beyond stupid but somehow charming anyway.

I assume you've seen Rushmore and The Royal Tenenbaums.

Chick-flicky: movies starring hot boys are my chick flicks. Chocolat for Johnny Depp, Shattered Glass for Peter Sarsgaard, Grosse Point Blank for John Cusack, I Went Down for Peter McDonald (very funny Irish caper movie!).

Have you seen You Can Count On Me? I like the Ruffalo. 24 Hour Party People is a lot of fun and the music is tops.

If you want to cry like a baby, see In America.

If you haven't seen Beautiful Girls, go walk run and pick it up.

Hope you find something!
