EEK posts about the relationship your five favorite movies have with each other. To paraphrase an exercise she cribbed from elsewhere, some film teacher down at UCLA would ask students to jot down their five favorite films without really thinking about it. When the students were asked to compare the films, they would often find that the movies had substantially similar storylines. Theoretically, your films will demonstrate that same relationship between storylines on the ground that those movies tell your story.
Sadly, I can only think of three movies that rock my world:
* Blade Runner (Directors cut without the silly voice over);
* The Empire Strikes back; and I suppose you could add
* Diva (In French with english Subtitles)
At first glance it would seem that I am merely obsessed with a younger Harrison Ford. It is true that back in the day, I thought he was the hottest piece of Manflesh on the planet. However, today I find him crunky and a little sad, and definitely not hot.
Back to the similar storylines, it would appear that my story is that I am a MAN living dangerously in dark times, dubiously fighting the good fight but calling it self preservation, trying to rescue a damsel in distress, seeking new horizons for safe existence while simultaneously looking for redemption.
But for the man part, the damsel saving, and the fighting the good fight, I guess that is my story.
