Ireland's 32

I looked to see who was wearing the green today as I wandered through the bank towers. Most of the folks sporting emerald tones looked like they had Irish blood to honor. But generally, the green was subdued, relegated to scarves and ties, and the occasional jacket or shirt. I wonder what it's like in neighborhoods where the Sons and Daughters of Ireland are better represented.

Because I'm a good part Irish myself, I made sure to wear some things visibly green, and orange. Today's button-down is striped, my favorite color. Right down the front placard is a double orange stripe with a blue background. To the side in either direction are green and white stripes. There are also rose, yellow and palest cloud-blue stripes, but this shirt is predominantly orange and green - my nod to my mixed bucket of Irish ancestors.

It's 4 o'clock and I'm considering ducking out for a quick Guinness, Harp or Bushmills over ice. I won't be out with the crowds tonight, unless the crowds converge on my favorite middle eastern restaurant where I'll be having dinner with a friend.
