Long slow exhalation

You can hold off on congratulations for the moment, as it seems I'll be what they call a "December graduate." I'll take the February 2008 bar exam instead.

It was kind of a moot decision, I just could not meet the incomplete I'd taken on my writing requirement AND do my bar exam preparation at the same time.

The clincher was a conversation I had Monday morning with one of my friends whose office-mate scores bar essays. There are some good points about February Bar passage rates which will probably work in my favor. Hopefully, they'll offset some less auspicious character traits of mine. Either way, I'm off the hook for the July exam, pending some wrangling with the State Bar offices.

The big indicator was that my internal safety valve blew in a very, uhm, interesting way. Physically, mentally, emotionally and every other way, I am safe and sound but I have an over-worked guardian angel and I had to cash in some karma points I'd deposited over the years. Honestly, I'm not disappointed, I'm RELIEVED. I've been deep sighing for the past two days.

As ever, there is a silver lining, and that is that I'll be able to enjoy doing the academic paper. IP was the only subject I did well in, and my paper topic falls under that heading. I'm really looking forward to doing the research and writing the paper instead of dreading cranking it out under the pressure of an unmeetable deadline.

I'm happy you're feeling better. Does this mean Cali is letting you roll over without problem?

I'm glad you chose to do the paper now and the bar later. I can already tell you are less stressed out.
