Rerooted

The best place I ever lived is now an empty hollow. The last heavy bits of furniture are in the garage. I still need to empty the fridge and pick up some plants, but I'm basically out of there.

I have great hopes for my new home. For one thing, I have returned the first California burg where I ever lived by choice. My little town is all growed up. It still has a few old holdovers from the bad old days. One of my favorite restaurants is still there. The Trader Joes without which I would starve to death is nearly a walkable distance. There's a garage, with a washer & dryer. There's a yard, I'm welcome to garden. There's a roommate. He's tall & strong & likes to build things (like a workbench so I can do some glasswork). Of course The Princess prefers his company to mine. Fickle beast.

He's out of town right now, for at least two weeks. Upshot? I get to set up the house to my liking, and anything that comes after will have to be a change, harder to effect than basic set up. Yay!

Also yay, my second favorite Mexican restaurant is just up the street.
