Ok, 2 actual days in Paradise

Saturday
This ended up being Date day with the tax man. We didn't plan it that way, but that's how it wound up. We woke up earlier than normal which meant I finally had time to take lawboi to a French cafe that I have always been fond of. It's a tad bit spendy, but not over the top, and the food is really great. Specifically, their gingerbread pancakes are really great. Across the street from the French Cafe is my favorite hardware store. You can buy a soap dish that looks like a fish skeleton there, or a buddha for your garden, or inch long finishing nails, or plumbing supplies, or saw blades or any other typical hardware store items with a few bizarre garden/kitchen/bathroom sundries thrown in. The key cutter bragged that his duplicate keys always work. Hmmm. Maybe I should get duplicate keys with different colors so I'll stop trying to unlock the front door with the garage key.
Lawboi had a charity event and I had school work to pretend to do, so we separated for the bulk of the afternoon and he came and then he picked me up from school when it started to rain hard.

We were running a few errands when I suddenly remembered there was another date place I'd always wanted to take Lawboi. 20 minutes later we found ourselves seated in the cozy window platform of the trendy Belgian Fries Place. We reclined on soft cushions watching the world go by, eating the best french fries on the planet, while listening to techno. It. Did. Not. Suck.

later that evening I fell asleep around 7pm and slept around the clock. It was the first night of full sleep I've had in a while.

Sunday
I awoke to blue skies with puffy white clouds. I had just enough time to shower, consider my outfit, and roll into clothes and down the stairs. I made it to school just in time to meet the Right-wing Republican Federalist society members for a wine country outing. Technically I went as a member of the Wine Law Society, but I think I was the only one. We skwished 4 of the red ties into Heidi and headed up to Sonoma County for the Carneros Region Wine festival. Carneros is my favorite wine district. It has a minerally something or other that hits just the right notes for me. We toured many wineries that are usually closed to the public, including our last stop, an organic micro-producer called Adrastra. I didn't taste any of their wines (as I WAS designated driver) but they sure smelled good. I did eat all their cheese, specifically the Saint Andre. Yum!

It was a perfect blue and green day. The fields were full of baby animals, tiny calves and lambs and foals. The hills are still live grass green. One of my riders even got me a tasty bottle of Merlot at one of my favorite Vintners. He also got Robert Kamen to sign a bottle of Pinot with the phrase "Multipass Multipass", a reference to the movie the Fifth Element, because yeah, he's THAT Robert Kamen.
