Talked to mom today, she's losing her vision. Can't read, can't drive. She's losing her independence, and her longest hobby. I am my mother's child, reading is integral to our existence. I can't imagine not being able to read books. For her, it's worse than that. We also have a genetic fault that causes us to lose our hearing. Women in our family need hearing aids by the time we're forty. She needs to read the closed captioning to watch tv.
The fact that it was freezing, cloudy and gray all damn day doesn't help. I feel like I'm living a freaking Morrisey song.
