KSYK (K-psyche) the radio in your head

Of late R.E.M.'s Leaving New York, and Green Day's Boulevard of Broken Dreams, have been dueling for primacy on the soundtrack in my head. It makes for an interesting Mash-up (esp as BBD can refer to Broadway in NYC.)

I walk a lonely road... The only one that I have ever... Leaving New York never easy...It's easier to leave than be left behind (It's pulling me apart)

I told you, forever
I love you, forever
I told you, I love you

It's pulling me apart.
I walk a lonely road...

Weird and melancholy and energizing yet the same, but mostly melancholy. I find myself enraptured by the fuguelike quality of the REM lyrics. I love a good fugue. Nonetheless, I guess I feel a bit funked out, or perhaps my nickname "blue" fits a bit better than usual... No reason to feel funked out tho, that's the trouble. Maybe I'm lonely or something.

You might have hidden a frown...

Last night, after dropping Nigel at the shop, JC picks me up and he has the radio on, and I swore KSYK had started broadcasting. First, there's a Johnny Cash song (I forget which one, but one of the classics, I've been listening to lately as I'm writing an elegy), followed by "Strange Bird" by Bobby Bare Jr. (one of the best songs of 2004), then "Hardest Button to Button" by White Stripes which I love to sing in a mock-Jack voice, and I found myself asking JC whose show we were listening to, and was it maybe mine?!Then some Calexico came on and while I dig 'em they don't run through my head so all was right with the world.

But the Cash was terribly coincidental and I might have to hire some existential detectives to figure this one out.

I know what you mean about 'Boulevard of Broken Dreams'...that song beyond rocks & I can't get enough of it. The whole CD is really decent...'Holiday' is also hard to get out of my head.
