Civil War

This is election is so split it's driving me nuts. I am not a registered Democrat but I can think of no reason that could compel me to vote for Bush, he stands for everything I find abhorrent about my fellow Americans.

I know that there are Bush supporters who feel the same way about Kerry. But the way this is coming out is ugly. I've already read about domestic violence arising from the election. Unfortunately, I can't find the article, apparently, a 19 year old man beat his girlfriend when he discovered she would not support Bush as he had tried to require that she do.

Which brings me to my point... if violence is already breaking out in families, how far is the line where neighbor will attack neighbor? How far are we really, from civil war?

At a time when revolution could not quickly be put down because of our missing national guard and reservists...

At a time when the best armed, at least in urban areas, are those most damaged by our current society's policies...

At a time when we are willing to kill over parking spaces...

How far?
